Rules

1. Cheating, server exploits, and alternative accounts

1.1 Cheat clients and other modifications

The use of cheat clients, macro keys and other modifications which gives gameplay leverage over other players are not allowed. This includes minimap radars that show players below blocks. Players who violate this rule will face a permanent ban.

Autoclickers of any kind, including those that provide a PvP advantage, are strictly prohibited and will result in a permanent ban. This includes the Turbo mode in Razer mice.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Using third-party software or modifications that give an unfair advantage over other players.

  • Exploiting bugs or glitches in the game to gain an unfair advantage.

  • Sharing or selling cheats or hacks to other players.

  • Using alternative accounts to bypass punishment for cheating or exploitation.

  • Players found to be participating in any of these activities will be punished, regardless of whether they gained an advantage from it or not. It is the player's responsibility to report any bugs or exploits to staff.

This rule does not apply to the following:

  • Performance improvement mods like Optifine.

  • Armor and effect status HUD mods.

  • Minimap mods unless they display more information than our Dynamic map provides.

  • Purely aesthetic mods.

  • Litematica. (However, Schematica/printer is not allowed.)

Please contact server staff if you are unsure about whether a client modification you are using is allowed.

1.2 Knowingly benefiting from or assisting others in breaking server rules

Players found intentionally assisting in, participating in, or benefitting from other players knowingly breaking any of the rules listed on this page may be treated as if they committed the act themselves.

Players who are aware of another player breaking a rule and do not report it to staff may also be punished.

1.3 Technical errors and server exploits

Players are not allowed to take advantage of apparent server bugs or otherwise exploit technical oversights. Players found taking advantage of bugs or technical oversights without notifying staff may be permanently banned.

Supporters should not abuse their perks in a way that puts another player at a disadvantage. Players who use their supporter perks to break the rules or cause any other problems will be punished.

Purchasing or selling Gold ores or blocks that drop gold related items is not allowed. Purchasing or selling any other type of ore is permitted.

1.4 Alternative accounts

Alternative accounts (or “alts”) are not allowed. You may only use one account per player. Alternative accounts will be banned and the player’s main account may be warned if this rule is deliberately broken. Please contact server staff if you wish to switch your main account.

Secondary accounts: You are allowed to have one Java and Bedrock account, if your primary account is on Java, your secondary account must be on Bedrock, and vice versa.

You may not use your secondary account at the same time as your main account. Your ban, warning, and mute history will be shared between both accounts, as they are considered to belong to the same player.

Here are some things that you are allowed to do on a secondary account:

  • You are allowed to have one secondary account strictly for accessing the server from Bedrock Edition if your main account is on Java Edition, or vice versa. This is typically for convenience, such as playing on a different device while traveling.

  • Joining your own town. Your secondary account may join the same town as your main account. However, if your main account moves towns, the secondary account must also move.

Here are some things you are not allowed to do on a secondary account:

  • Use it to vote more then once.

  • Use it to break rules or steal from towns.

  • Use it to grind or to AFK.

  • Use it to exploit any rewards system.

  • Use it as an alternative account. (Living a double life rather then using the Bedrock account as an extension of the Java account. Both accounts should be used by the same person.)

  • You may use either your Java or Bedrock account at a time, not both accounts at the same time. Players who violate this rule will have one of their accounts banned.

  • Using your secondary account to claim, found, or mayor a town. Its primary purpose is for gameplay only on an alternate device. Using an alt to control additional territory is prohibited.

1.5 Intentionally causing lag or disrupting our services

Any player who intentionally disrupts server performance or stability will be permanently banned.

Any automatic redstone machines found to cause significant server lag will be removed without warning, and the player responsible may be punished. We strongly advise against building complex, always active redstone machines or AFK pools to avoid any issues.

Gold farms are prohibited and will be removed. Building on the Nether roof is also strictly forbidden and not possible, due to the fact if you head to the Nether roof you will be killed.

2. Behavior and chat

2.1 Naming

Before creating a nation, make sure that your chosen name complies with the following rules:

  • Nation names must be based on real-life nations, and may not be fictional.

  • Nation names may not be the same as a past nation.

  • Nation names may be named after a region, province, or other large geographical area with defined borders if an accurate nation name is not available.

  • Nation names must correspond with the map location of the national capital

  • Nation names may not be similar to already established nations, to the point where one could easily be confused with the other.

  • If a nation name does not comply with these rules, it may be changed by a staff member. Repeated violations of these rules may result in the disbandment of the nation.

Before creating a town, make sure that your chosen name complies with the following rules:

  • Town names must be based on real-life towns, and may not be fictional.

  • Town names may not be inappropriate, toxic, or offensive.

  • Town names may not be similar to already established towns, to the point where one could easily be confused with the other.

  • If a town name does not comply with these rules, it may be changed by a staff member.

Account usernames, nicknames, skins and Towny titles must not be advertisements, explicit, sexual, racist, or otherwise inappropriate.

2.2 Stealing and raiding players/towns/nations

Stealing and raiding other players is allowed. It is up to each player to protect their assets. Killing is also allowed, as long as it does not classify as harassment.

Although scamming is tolerated, Quickshop scamming is not permitted. This includes, but is not limited to, renaming an item in a shop (e.g., Quickshop) to misrepresent it and trick players into making a purchase they did not intend to make.

Players found engaging in such scamming will be punished, and will be required to provide refunds to affected players.

2.3 Spam

Spamming or sending messages in a way that disrupts chat flow, normally by sending a similar message repeatedly, is not allowed. This includes repeatedly using capital letters, sending similar messages, or constantly pinging staff without a valid reason.

Please be mindful of staff time, as they are volunteers who may be busy with other tasks. Misuse of the support ticket system may result in a ban from it.

2.4 Unwanted behavior

Unwanted behavior is not allowed on the server. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Any form of explicit bullying or derogatory language.

  • Repeated use of derogatory terms towards a specific player.

  • Comments that encourage self-harm, incite violence, or contain hate speech, including remarks targeting racial or social minorities.

  • Explicit discussions or advances of sexual nature.

  • Disrupting server events.

  • Unreasonable toxicity towards other players

  • Stream sniping or harassing Youtubers or streamers. They are content creators.

  • Distorting facts or lying to the staff team to gain material benefit.

  • Assisting, helping, or encouraging other players to break the rules.

  • Testing, taunting, or teasing staff members, rules, or processes in an annoying manner.

  • Inappropriate dialogue or actions towards players, specifically minors.

  • Having controversial, political, or religious debates is allowed as long as all parties are respectful towards each other. A staff member may end the debate if they consider it necessary, and players who do not comply may be punished.

  • Not following the rules after being punished for breaking them. For example, a player receives a warning for griefing and then griefs again before their warning has expired.

Toxicity is evaluated on a case by case basis and staff has final say in what is considered toxic behavior. Repeated behavior may lead to mutes, warnings, and eventually a permanent ban.

2.5 Impersonating other players, towns and nations

Impersonating other players by using similar usernames, nicknames, or town/nation names is not allowed. Anyone found doing this will be required to change back to their original identity. If any damage is caused by the impersonation, staff may choose to ban the offending player.

2.6 Sharing personal information

Sharing the personal information or identity of another person without their explicit permission is strictly forbidden. This includes, but is not limited to, full names, real-life photos, phone numbers, home addresses, social media profiles, school or workplace locations, family relations, and IP addresses.

This rule applies even if the information was previously disclosed by the person themselves, you are not authorized to share it with others. It is also prohibited to use someone's personal information in a threatening or manipulative way.

Sharing malicious links, such as those containing viruses or IP loggers, is not allowed. Links that violate any server rules are also prohibited, even when sent through Discord or via other means.

You may not share links to sexual, violent, or otherwise disturbing content. Other types of links may be permitted, but will likely be caught by the server's spam filter.

2.8 Advertising

Advertising is only permitted for content related to this server. Promoting other servers is strictly forbidden. If you wish to invite a player to a different server, you must do so through a private message or Discord, not in public global channels.

2.9 Selling content and services for real money

The exchange of any in-game items, currency, or services for real-world money is strictly prohibited, vice versa.

2.10 Language in global chat channels

Use only English when speaking in the global chat channels. You may use other languages in private chat channels, such as town chat or private messages. If only, or almost only, players who speak your language are online, you are allowed to use it in global chat as well.

3. Griefing

3.1 Destroying land in or around claims

Players may not damage land in or around town claims (griefing). Players who break this rule will receive a warning and the damage will be rolled back. Players who do this more than once may face a permanent ban.

Examples of griefing include, but are not limited to:

  • Cobble monsters, mountain-like structures that are built using lava and water.

  • Lava or water curtains, placing rows of lava or water in the sky to make a wall of falling lava.

  • Creating craters with TNT.

  • Mass spawning entities like chickens or boats within or near a town.

3.2 Destroying land in Wilderness

Wilderness is defined by Towny as any unclaimed land. You may grief structures or terrain in the wilderness, provided they are not in or near a town's claim. However, any major terrain grief in the wilderness can be rolled back upon request.

It is not allowed to break railways or ice roads in the wilderness if they connect two towns. This rule applies to all blocks that make up the railroad, not just the rails themselves.

3.3 Town claims

Towns are not allowed to claim land for the primary purpose of blocking the expansion of nearby towns. The creation of long, narrow "claim arms" to control territory or block others is prohibited. Towns must have solid, contiguous borders.

Leaving unclaimed chunks inside a town's territory is not allowed. When overclaiming another town, you cannot split it into separate pieces, it must remain a single, connected area. Towns created solely to block an existing town will be removed.

3.4 Major terraforming

To maintain the server's authentic geographical integrity, significant alterations to the natural terrain are prohibited. The primary guideline is that any modification which changes how the natural landscape appears on the live website map is not permitted. Such unauthorized edits will be removed.

This specifically includes actions like draining rivers or lakes, constructing artificial islands, or building platforms over ocean areas. Vertical construction (building upwards or downwards) is allowed, as it does not distort the two-dimensional dynamic map view.

3.5 Map art

The creation of map art is not permitted on this server. This rule applies to all areas, including claimed land. Any form of large-scale terraforming or pixel art for the purpose of creating map art is considered a violation of server rules against griefing and unauthorized modification of the terrain.

Any found map art will be removed and may result in further action if done repeatedly.
